The Philippines hosted the 23rd edition of the SEA Games, short for Southeast Asian Games. The bodybuilding event took place in Pasay City, in the Manila metro area, with 37 athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam competing for gold, silver and bronze.
The schedule was as follows:
1 December - Weigh-in
2 December - Pre-Judging
3 December - Finals
