Living together bad for your figure
2009年6月14日 |
There are a lot of great benefits of living together. But there is also a disadvantage. New research from the University of North Carolina shows that couples who live together are more than twice as likely to become obese than those who live separately. The risk of obesity even rises the longer people live together.
Couples
One of the reasons is that couples often copy each others weight gaining habits. Married people often eat together and therefore prepare bigger meals, and also go out to eat together more often than single people.
Television
Couples also hang in front of the television together more often than single people, instead of visiting the local gym.
Maybe this is a good wake-up call for young couples to prevent obesity from happening.
Good
Marriage also has its advantages: married people tend to smoke less and reach a higher average age than single people.
