Woman uses bodybuilding to beat anorexia

2009年9月28日

A Connecticut woman is hoping to use her lifelong struggle with anorexia to make a difference for others. Sue Daigle is in the middle of training for competition.

"It's just healthy and I just believe in it," said Daigle. She's an award-winning bodybuilder. This is a big difference from what her body used to look like.

"I just started dieting and I saw myself losing. When I started losing, I liked it and I kept going, kept going," said Daigle. "I never thought I was skinny enough." That was the beginning of her battle with anorexia, nearly 40 years ago at the age of 12. As an adult, there was a time when she only weighed 80 pounds. "It got to a point that I was afraid to even let food touch my mouth," she said.

Then she found body building ... a sport that requires good nutrition.
