Asian Men's Bodybuilding and Athletic Physique Championships (2010)
August 4, 2010 - August 6, 2010 (3 days) |
Iran was originally scheduled to host the 2009 edition of the event, but it was moved to Thailand due to the uncertain situation in Iran at the time. Now, the Iranians got their second chance and organized the 2010 Asian Men's Bodybuilding and Athletic Physique Championships. It was as if the country had held its breath for one year and then exploded: a huge and roaring crowd cheered on the athletes at the Azadi Sports Complex.
Iran came out swinging and won 9 of the 14 categories, and local hero Baitollah Abbaspour won the overall title. Runner-up team was Iraq with 1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. Third team was Thailand, bringing home 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
All the preliminary results are available under the "Results" tab. Photos are being added as fast as we can, which is about a weight class per day. Videos will follow soon.
